Rotary International Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Charity

Rotary Tourney (7)The President of the Rotary International Club Diego Frankel announced the start of the 10th annual Rotary Golf Tournament, a sold-out event at Tierra del Sol, on Saturday.

The tournament collected funds for the local Autism foundation, for a Teen Pregnancy project, and for the recently launched Dress a Child initiative, in conjunction with other Service Clubs, reports Ravee Boolchand, on the organizing committee.

The shotgun-start of the four-man scramble at 12:30 p.m. heralded an excellent day of golf which culminated with an award ceremony and prizes at 6:30 p.m., accompanied by a attractive raffle over delicious barbeque dinner, prepared by Ventanas del Mar restaurant. Garage Centraal offered a Mercedes for a hole in one, and generous other sponsors from the community donated gifts for Closest to Pin and Longest Drive.

Head Golf Pro Oliver Reed, together with Golf Pro Adam Williamson welcomed one-hundred and twenty-eight golfers, in thirty-two teams of four to the last golf tournament of 2009.
