A colorful, traditional Indian wedding unfolded over the weekend at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa. The bride and groom, from Chicago, and more than eighty invited wedding guests enjoyed a series of elegant events imbued with symbolism, ritual and beauty.
The actual wedding ceremony took place on Palm Beach on Saturday morning against a backdrop of a spectacularly clear day. The sacred blessings were performed by a pundit who led the couple through the intricate ancient ceremony which included the spectacular arrival of the bride and groom, prayers to Lord Ganasha, the exchange of flower garlands, the giving away of the bride, the joining of hands, the tying of the knot, and the circling of the sacred fire praying for welfare and blessings.
Mid ceremony Tina & Amit took seven symbolic steps together entering married life, invoking god’s protection with each steps. The ceremony concluded with the offering of an auspicious necklace to the bride, the confirmation of marriage, the recital of vows and the exchange of rings.
Later that day, the couple hosted a tropical pool deck reception followed by sumptuous plated dinner in the resort ballroom, with dance music.
The dazzling weekend of festivities also included a Sangeet Rehearsal Dinner on the active pool deck of the resort, on the eve of the marriage.
Dedicated Wedding Specialist Lisa Dammerman took care of all arrangements in collaboration with the culinary and banquet teams, creating a truly exceptional experience for Tina and Amit, who are beginning their lives together as husband and wife.
