Starbucks, celebrating its 40th of anniversary this spring

Time flies by when you’re having fun, and Starbucks which opened its first store in 1971, in Seattle, Washington, is celebrating an important anniversary this spring. The much-loved chain of coffee places representing the universal coffeehouse culture, hit the four-decade milestone. Four decades of providing people with a cozy place to meet over coffee and conversation.

While the way we enjoy coffee varies from one person to the next and from one season to the other, the warm feelings evoked by the coffee drinking experience remain, and Starbucks continues to nurture emotional connections with its customers and its purveyors, escorting the coffee bean from farm to cup.

In honor of its anniversary, Starbucks pays tribute to the connections that have been formed over 40 years and looks forward to inspiring new ones. And in celebration of the company’s long-standing relationship with customers, Starbucks is introducing three new offerings: a premium handcrafted espresso, three food offerings worthy of sharing and a special coffee blend.

From March 8, 2011, Cocoa Cappuccino, Starbucks Petites and Starbucks Tribute Blend™ will be available in participating stores globally, inspiring the next generation of world-wide connections.

Cocoa Cappuccino may be enjoyed hot or over ice. It features fresh, caramelly espresso, bittersweet mocha sauce, steamed milk and a thick layer of silky foam for the perfect balance between the bold flavor of espresso and the rich sweetness of mocha.

Starbucks Petites are mini sweet and delicious treats designed for any occasion and perfect for gifting. Starbucks Petites are made with only premium ingredients to offer the perfect amount of decadence. Good news, each petite is less than 200 calories, so you can still feel good about treating yourself. The new Mini Cupcakes are treat-sized cupcakes available in three varieties, Peanut Butter, 170 calories, a chocolate cupcake with peanut butter frosting topped with a mini peanut butter cup; Strawberry, 170 cal, a Vanilla cupcake with strawberry frosting and Chocolate Chip, 170 cal, a Chocolate Cupcake with chocolate butter frosting.

Starbucks Tribute Blend™ dedicated to customers and coffee farmers is an unexpected blend of four different beans – aged Sumatra, sun?dried Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, and Colombia. In this special blend, coffees from three coffee growing regions are mixed using three different coffee processing methods, for the first time. The beans are combined after roasting to capture the best flavor notes from each variety!

Visit Starbucks and enjoy the premium handcrafted espresso, and the three new food offerings in two locations, get a bag of special blend to go, at the Renaissance Mall and at the Renaissance Marketplace in Oranjestad.
