St Peters Drum Corps, from Torrington Connecticut, enchants and entertains

St. Peter’s Drum Corps, from Torrington Connecticut, travels each year, and every trip takes the talented musicians to different parts of the world. Their travel-log lists the Vatican in Rome, the Carnaval in Nice, France, and on another continent, they played during Mardi Gras in New Orleans, several times.

St. Peter’s Drum Corp regularly participates in 40 to 50 parades each year and performs around 5 to 10 concerts with its 50 musicians, who all live around the Torrington area.

The 77 year old band, with players age 13 to 81, is proud to report that its most senior musician has been a member of the corps for over 65 years!

The band practices its repertory once a week, accompanied by baton twirling and a color guard, and its dedicated musicians travel sometimes more than 50 miles to participate in rehearsals!

Pictured here the band’s performance on the Divi’s pool deck Wednesday night. Their music was enthusiastically received by the resort guests and members of the local press. The band’s trip to Aruba will be followed by an appearance at the Rockland County Firemen’s Convention in Stony Point, in their role as the musical ambassadors of the St Peter’s Parish.
