Showcasing the Marriott and Renaissance Caribbean Resorts

DSC08471A MARCAM familiarization trip visited Aruba, invited to sample some of the island’s hospitality treasures. The just-arrived guests, all top professionals in the group and incentive market, were greeted by Ariana Santiago, the Renaissance Sales Manager who also escorted them during the action-packed day around the heart-of-town complex.

Starting off with breakfast at the Renaissance Ocean Suites, the group toured the resort facilities, the Convention Center and the Renaissance Private Island where members were met by Chico, famed island manager. Having inspected the gorgeous crescent beaches and the pink flamingoes, the dignitaries were boated back to the mainland to explore the Marina Resort, the Fitness Center & Okeanos Spa, and the L.G. Smith Steak & Chop House, for an informal orientation with Food & Beverage Manager John Grigg.

Having familiarized themselves with the Crystal Casino, and the Renaissance Mall, it was time for a “Shake & Bake” jeep tour along Aruba’s rugged north coast.

In the evening, group members dined at the L.G. Smith’s Steak & Chop House enjoying the special fall menu created by guest Peter Vaulty, the Certified Angus Beef brand celebrity chef, selecting from a variety of contemporary classic appetizers, such as Peppers stuffed with home made Italian sausage, Oysters Rockefeller and Steak Tartar, made of Certified Angus Beef Prime tenderloin, and Apple Salad with bibb lettuce and Westfield Farms goat cheese.

As entrée, the menu presented Steak Alla Oscar with fresh crabmeat, or dry-aged Prime Stripsteak blackened with charred pineapple or cold-smoked Rack of Pork, each accompanied by two seasonal sides.

Ensuring the ultimate in dining excellence, the beef dishes at the L.G. Smith Steak & Chop House featured Certified Angus Beef brand Prime, representing less than 1% of all US beef production!

The evening concluded with desserts, delighting guests with a choice of Double Dip Crème Brulee with chocolate mousse, Banana Cream Pie or Fresh & Hot Donuts with raspberry jam.
