Salamander Holding Continues Giving with Tikkun Olam

Generous checks were recently delivered to some of Aruba’s charity foundations, of funds collected by Salamander Holdings NV.

Salamander Holdings NV owns and operates the Juggling Fish, T.H. Palm & Company, the Coconut Trading Company and the Lazy Lizard, fun stores located in the hotel areas.

In 2008, Managing Director Jodi Tobman announced an on-going fund-raising initiative called Tikkun Olam, the repair of the world, named after an ancient Hebrew philosophical-belief, that the repair of the world is possible by mean of charity.

Tikkun Olan was initially introduced at T.H. Palm & Company in March of that year, when the first donations were given to a select group of local not-for-profit organizations.

Eighteen months later in November of 2009, with the opening of the Coconut Trading Company at the Village Mall the first donation was given to the just-formed Fundacion Pa Nos Comunidad.

Clients who shop at both T.H. Palm & Company, Playa Linda Beach Resort, and at the Coconut Trading Company at the Village Mall help direct a percentage of their purchases to their favorite local foundation, in the form of bi-annual donations.

In collaboration with their clients, to date, Salamander Holding NV had given more than Awg 75.000 to the Edmund E. Harms Hospice Foundation, to Fundacion pa Hende Muhe den Dificultad, to Fundacion Pa Nos Grandinan, and Club Kibrahacha, to Imelda Hof children’s home, to Koningin Wilhelmina Kanker Fonds, and to Telefon Pa Hubentud Aruba.

The Tikkun Olam Menu is available at the stores, and clients can study it to choose their favorite charity. In the near future, Aruba’s autism foundation will be added to the list, and will become one of the foundations supported by Salamander Holdings NV in the spirit of the Hebrew Kabbalah which believes that we are responsible for the welfare of our society, and that we are in charge of creating a better world.
