La Cabana learns about archeological treasures

In a recent lunchbox seminar the associates of La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club were enlightened and entertained by the representatives of the government’s Monument Agency in charge of restoration and preservation of Aruba’s historical buildings. The power-point presentation that accompanied the delicious lunch showed the process of bringing architectural gems back from the brink of destruction by means of careful reconstruction, mixing old and new with integrity and utmost care.

Oranjestad and the heart of town is blessed with more than 18 landmark buildings, while St Nicholas has 54 buildings of architecturally historic interest.

The recently inaugurated museum, open in the heart of town, resides in some of Aruba’s most important reconstructed and preserved buildings, now making up the important Archaeological Museum of Aruba on Schelpstraat 42.
