Children in grades Pre K through grade 4 used creativity and lots of glue to create gorgeous donation boxes to support Fundacion’s Food Bank program.
The “shopping bag/donation” boxes will be in businesses all around the island for persons to drop in their spare change which will in turn be used to purchase much-needed foods for the charitable organization’s food bank. The Food Bank will provide basic groceries to families in need on the island of Aruba.
Ms. Anita van der Sloot, ISA’s Art teacher, oversaw her young students as they diligently toiled to craft the boxes, which when finished looked much like a mosaic shopping bag. Many laughs were shared as the children worked with their classmates and learned more about the foundation and what the bags would be used for. The proud students vowed to look for “their” bags in shops on the island and were equally happy to know they were helping to serve the community.
