The party, expertly catered by Bingo Café, invited friends of the store and repeat clients to come out for the night, and bring a friend along, to leisurely preview the season’s exciting new gifts, as paired with tastings of international hors d’hoeuvres & cocktails.
The evening was a lot of fun, and most importantly the event helped the island’s community with much-needed funds raised for charity via T.H. Palm & Company’s ongoing journey of world repair, Tikkun Olam, in the words of the ancient Kabala.Â
The evening was organized by company associates who used their creativity and spunk to deliver a fantastic affair, as witnessed by our photographer.
T.H. Palm & Company is dedicated to Tikkun Olam, a concept adopted from the Kabala, earmarking resources to making a difference, thinking globally and acting locally.
By shopping at T.H. Palm & Company patrons direct a portion of their purchase price to their preferred charity via an in-store Tikkun Olam community menu.
Tikkun Olam’s community menu calls locals and visitors to come together in support of the following foundations:
Imeldahof, providing foster care to children ages 6-18 since 1954; Fundacion Pa Hende Muhe den Dificultad, Foundation for Abused Women, providing a safe haven and help for victims of spousal abuse since 1995; Stichting Edmund E. Harms Foundation, providing hospice care to terminal cancer patients since 1996; Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds voor de Kankerbestriding op Aruba, Wilhelmina Cancer Foundation, offering support for cancer patients, survivors and their families since 1961; Telefon pa Hubentud Aruba, Teen Telephone Helpline, offering telephone support to youth ages 8 -18 since 2003; Fundacion pa nos Grandinan, Centro Kibrahacha, offering daily recreational activities for the elderly since 1985. Donations, says owner Jodi Tobman-Hagedoorn  are paid out quarterly.
Substantial donations were made in 2008, and Salamander Holdings NV, the mother company of T. H. Palm & Company is confident that again this year the public will be generous helping the island’s not-for-profit foundations, and giving back to the community.
