La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club just recently made the decision to host Associate Appreciation celebrations every three months, with the intention to celebrate more and acknowledge top performance frequently.
In the past, celebrations were held every four months, but this year they will be more reoccurring, explained General Manager Joe Najjar, in order to raise the bar on excellence and lavish more appreciation on deserving associates.
Geegee Mabalay distinguished herself for January as she outshone all her colleagues at the Front Office going the extra mile to meet and exceed guests’ expectations. Kirk Lovelace also at the Front Desk won accolades for February for handling an extraordinary amount of work cheerfully, and meticulously. Stephanie Maduro of the Food & Beverage Department received praise for her “Just Do It,” attitude, springing from the great love to the resort and her job.
Other nominees for January included Nixon Castillo, Recreation, Luz Mery Galviz, Kitchen, Solange Emmanuel, Housekeeping and Judith Milton, Security. They all were honored by their department heads with warm words and applause. For February Fraklin Palmer, Food & Beverage, Cynthia Headly-Shaw, Housekeeping, Julio Brete, Security and Alex Bocanegra, Accounting, were paid tribute to by their superiors, and their leadership qualities extolled. For March Catherine Martinez, Recreation, Ireno Catibayan, Bell Service, and Sylvia Leger, Housekeeping, all deserved top honors for their conduct and work ethics.
Winners received a handsome plaque, dinner for four at the Islanders Grill, a customary envelope besides other surprises. The appreciation ceremony over lunch was arranged by the Food & Beverage and Kitchen Departments, and was emceed by the Department of Human Resources.
