First Monthly Aruba Culinary Festival at Divi Links is a HIT

Locals and visitors flocked to the plaza below the club-house at Divi Links for an exciting taste of Aruba and a cultural experience, as the first monthly Aruba Culinary Festival unfurled on Monday.

The first edition held this week showcased the Aruba Gastronomic Association restaurants serving their delicious signature dishes, paired with Arion Wine Company’s fine portfolio of wines, which was generously poured all evening.

Local artists and artisans combined with live music lent an authentic Aruban touch while the crew of Tattoo, Mi Dushi and Kukoo Kunuku added an element of fun to the gathering.

Guests savored the international flavors of the Aruba Gastronomic Association restaurants, sampling the cuisine of Mulligan’s Golf Café Bar & Restaurant, Amazonia Churrascaria, Aqua Grill, Driftwood, the French Steak House, Gasparito, Giorgio’s Ristorante Italiano, La Trattoria El Faro Blanco, and Windows on Aruba.

Amazonia Churrascaria’s grilled chicken breast, Brazilian sausage and filet mignon skewers, received rave reviews, while Aqua Grill Chesapeake crab cakes with grain mustard sauce, were a tremendous hit.

Driftwood served fresh catch of the day with a choice of Creole or garlic sauce accompanied by local corn bread; the French Steak House & Giorgio’s Ristorante Italiano presented a combo of Beef Stroganoff on focaccia bread; Gasparito delivered traditional Seafood Keshi Yena & Chicken Keshi Yena; Mulligan’s Golf Café Bar & Restaurant offered Beef Tenderloin in Port wine with couscous; La Trattoria El Faro Blanco shared its Gamberoni Giulio Cesare, Jumbo shrimp and asparagus wrapped in prosciutto ham, while the host restaurant, Windows on Aruba canapés included Tuna Sushi, Smoked Salmon with cream cheese & Duck with Feta Cheese.
