Eagle Beach — The program for Housekeeping Week at the resort was extensive and included a series of unforgettable events designed to acknowledge the important contributions members of the housekeeping department make each day. The celebration started off with a themed royal luncheon on Friday. Members of the department were crowned Princes and Princesses, in a pink decorated cafeteria with handmade ornaments, over delicious lunch enjoyed by all resort associates.
Then the following week on Monday morning, the housekeeping department was treated to a special breakfast prepared in honor of the celebration, and served in the conference room, just before the beginning of the work day. The festivities continued on Tuesday with a Beach Party pairing dance music and food, on picture-perfect Eagle Beach, in the late hours of the afternoon. On Wednesday the department went on a fun sightseeing trip in a bus, around the island, then on Thursday, Appreciation Day featured awards and words of gratitude, directed at those who made Housekeeping Week possible. The ever-diligent Rebertha Rhoden, was lauded for the exceptional service she always provides, as a role model for resort housekeepers.
Friday, raised the bar on all celebrations as the department heads including General Manager Joe Najjar and his entire Executive Committee put on housekeeping uniforms, to help make beds and clean rooms, and experience the hard work each of the housekeepers performs every day. Department heads report they gained a new perspective on what it takes to be a member of that department, and a fresh appreciation for the hard-working men and women in service.
