Edwin Ortiz, ten years at the helm of the Frangipani Restaurant

The Turtle’s Nest & Frangipani Restaurants at Costa Linda Beach Resort have served resort guests and their family member since the resort’s opening day. In the last decade, two people who embody the spirit of service at the restaurants are Shanela Paulina and Edwin Ortiz who are celebrating their tenth year anniversary at the helm at Costa Linda.

Shanela and Edwin share the responsibility for management during the restaurant’s hours of operations, and actively pursue total guest satisfaction for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Edwin who studied Hotel Management in his native Colombia, South America, started his hospitality career at Costa Linda Beach Resort as Night Auditor. His exceptional gift of communication quickly moved him up the executive ladder from his job during off hours, to a more visible position during the resort’s busiest hours. Edwin then continued to distinguish himself when he worked as a bartender in the lobby bar, talking to guests and forging long-lasting connections with the resort’s owners.

For the past few years as the evening manager of the Food & Beverage operation Edwin pays special attention to dinner, making it as tropical and romantic as possible with the garden set-up of the Frangipani, while the Turtle’s Nest Restaurant is closed for renovations. “We welcome timeshare owners home,” Edwin says, “with a great appreciation, we are here to serve them, and we hope they find our food selection refreshing and reflective of their special needs, wishes and desires.”

Guests at Frangipani also have the option to eat, reasonably priced light meals any time, with the restaurant’s all-day dining menu, serving favorites without interruption from 12noon to 10pm. “This also allows families with small children to feed them at any convenient time,” Edwin adds.

Edwin loves to promote the restaurant’s BBQ Night on Tuesday, serving dinner hot off the grill under the stars, al fresco, “it doesn’t get any better than that,” he promises.
