Having thrived for 21 years in Aruba, the company made a decision to spread its wings to Curacao in view of the islandâ€™s significant growth in tourism and in anticipation of increased group business, as forecasted for the opening of the Hyatt Regency and the recent inauguration of the Renaissance Resort Curacao.
Wichita Villacres, President and CEO of ECO DMS, with affiliations to PRA Destination Management of South East Florida, hosted an elegant cocktail party at Hotel Kura Hulanda, Willemstad, Curacao, declaring that her company is now positioned to market the Dutch Caribbean, Aruba & Curacao, two similar yet different tropical destinations.
The party at Jaipur restaurant, overlooking the eco pool was graced by the presence of many movers and shakers. It was attended by guests of honor, Curacao Gezaghebber Lizanne Dindial and Arubaâ€™s Minister of Tourism & Transportation Ing Edison Briesen, together with legendary developer and philanthropist Jacob Gelt Dekker, owner of Kura Hulanda Resorts.
Also extending heartfelt congratulations to ECO DMS and its Curacao team with National Sales Manager Janine de Windt at the helm, members of the Curacao Tourism Development Board, Managing Director Evita Nita and board member Reginald Martes, with union leader Kenneth Valport, the Vice President of CHATA Billy Jonckheer, President/ Director, Kura Hulanda Hotels Peter H. Heinen, General Manager Shirley Geerman, Director of Real Estate Sales Paul Siegel, Professor of Medical Oncology Dr. H.M. (Bob) Pinedo, Seven Star Promotions Phyllis Hernandez, and Cesar Rodriguez Fundashon Korsou Limpi Bunita, who received a donation from ECO DMS on the occasion of its grand opening party.
The entertainment program included a traditional Kai Orgel with dancers in folkloric costumes, a salon couple interpreting an elegant Waltz and Danza, and a mesmerizing performance by Futuro Memoria Di Corsau who dramatically staged the islandâ€™s history through the ages, by means of dance, song, fire, drums and ritualistic conch blowing.
In her address to the dignitaries Villacres stated that she believes in Curacao as an exceptional destination blessed by rich history and culture and that her company would be promoting the island and training its people in the MICE arena, the meetings and incentives field, working with local vendors and purveyors.
Villacres had traveled the globe, she explained, as President and CEO of her company, she tirelessly drums up group business and deliver lucrative contracts year around.
ECO DMS, she says, is a proud green company and will spread corporate social responsibility, spearheading conservation efforts, hence to donation to Fundashon Korsou Limpi Bunita.
Villacres also thanked the Kura Hulanda hotel food & beverage team for making her debut in Curacao so spectacular, at the historic and elegant Kura Hulanda Hotel.
