Dick Goin an executive with Faithful + Gould, providing project management & cost management services for construction and engineering projects, worked in Aruba on two lovely developments. In 2005/2006 he oversaw the construction of the fabulous Larimar Spa, Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa, and for the past fourteen months he was at the helm of the refresh project at that same resort, working on the Bonaire and Curacao towers.
Goin was given a congenial farewell party at the resort’s new Plaza Club when his departure was announced. Goin will be going back to his hometown in Louisiana, USA, having completed most of the work to date, on budget and on time. Mike Gray, also with Faithful + Gould, fill follow in his footsteps to conclude the project and the refresh of the Aruba Tower before the end of the year.
The party was attended by all of Goin’s Aruba family members, the managers of the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa. General Manager Rob Smith expressed his gratitude for Goin’s commitment and expertise, given so graciously and professionally to the multi-million dollar project. Director of Finance Raymond Habibe praised Goin’s easy-going dealings with resort departments, and his notable gift for communication. Director of Finance Bob Curtis and Director of Maintenance Marciano Geerman recounted work-related episodes in which Goin pitched in to help beyond his assigned responsibilities.
Having invited all of his Aruban friends to visit him in Louisiana, Goin received a signed-by-everyone framed picture of the resort and a souvenir Biba Dushi, Sweet Life tee-shirt to wear around his backyard when boiling Cajon powered Louisiana crawfish when they all drop in for a meal.
