The group of VIPs is made up of the top 100 producing agents for Dertour, which is a major affiliation of German travel and tour operators. With around 10,000 retail travel sales offices in Germany alone, Dertour is one of the largest tour operators in Germany and Austria, offering individual holidays on a flexible modular basis. The DERTOUR product portfolio includes tours to long-haul and European destinations, specialized tours, city tours and events. It is currently the market leader in Germany and Austria for many long-haul destinations – particularly North America.
On Wednesday, the group spent the day at Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa, where they received a tour of the property, followed by an excellent lunch prepared and served by the resort’s culinary brigade in the Grand Caribbean Ballroom.
On hand to welcome the delegation of travel agents to the island and the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa were Aruba’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Social Affairs & Culture, Mrs. Michelle Hooyboer-Winklaar, Radisson’s General Manager Rob Smith and Senior Sales Manager Lily Polsbroek.
After several speeches and a presentation by Dertour, the group visited a trade show, where they had a chance to meet local vendors and company representatives.
Photos show the Dertour VIP agents, including the company’s CEO, enjoying their day at the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino. They were joined by Minister Hooyboer-Winklaar, Managing Director of the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), Myrna Jansen-Feliciano, ATA’s Director of Marketing, Frits Israel, Chairman of the Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association (AHATA), Alex Nieuwmeyer, Secretary of AHATA, Edgar Roelofs and Radisson’s General Manager, Rob Smith.
