Countdown to 5th annual girls night out

T.H. Palm & Company on Palm Beach is hosting a fun party Thursday night, its 5th annual Girls’ Night Out.

The party invites friends and clients to come out for the night, and bring a friend along, to preview the season’s exciting new gifts, as paired with tastings of international hors d’hoeuvres & cocktails.

T.H. Palm & Company is located on Palm Beach in front of Playa Linda Beach Resort and offers free parking just across the street.

The evening promise to be fun, yet most importantly the event is guaranteed to help our island community with much-needed funds for charity.

More than one year ago, T.H. Palm & Company embarked on an ongoing journey of world repair, Tikkun Olam, in the words of the ancient Kabala.

Owner Jodi Tobman-Hagedoorn explains that for its charity centerpiece T.H. Palm & Company borrowed the historical, important principle of Tikkun Olam from the Kabala, dedicating eternity to making a difference, thinking globally and acting locally.

The Hebrew phrase that means “repairing the world” or “perfecting the world,” has served the company as a platform to raise funds for local community projects, and patrons direct a portion of their purchases to their preferred charity via a posted in-store Tikkun Olam community menu.

Tikkun Olam’s community menu calls locals and visitors to join hands with T.H. Palm & Company and pledge 2% of the total sale to one of the following foundations:

Imeldahof, providing foster care to children ages 6-18 since 1954; Fundacion Pa Hende Muhe den Dificultad, Foundation for Abused Women, providing a safe haven and help for victims of spousal abuse since 1995; Stichting Edmund E. Harms Foundation, providing hospice care to terminal cancer patients since 1996; Koningin Wilhelmina Fonds voor de Kankerbestriding op Aruba, Wilhelmina Cancer Foundation, offering support for cancer patients, survivors and their families since 1961; Telefon pa Hubentud Aruba, Teen Telephone Helpline, offering telephone support to youth ages 8 -18 since 2003; Fundacion pa nos Grandinan, Centro Kibrahacha, offering daily recreational activities for the elderly since 1985. Donations will be paid out quarterly.

Substantial donations were made in 2008, and Salamander Holdings NV, the mother company of T. H. Palm & Company hopes that again this year the public will be generous with its support helping island not-for-profit foundations, and giving back to the community.

Salamander Holding informs that suggestions for different foundations for the fund-raising campaign of 2010 will be considered upon request, by contacting, with the details.

T.H. Palm & Company carries very feminine clothing lines, hand-made bejeweled bags, beach sandals and shoes, wide-brimmed straw hats, artisan jewelry, baby gifts, dog-lovers gifts, innovative household gifts and chic men’s clothing and accessories, fresh off designer show rooms and gift-show floors.
