On Thursday last week, Casa Tua Barcelona picked a unique Beaujolais for its celebration, produced by Joelle and Rene Martin, in their family-owned 8 acre vineyard.
Their wine possessed a lovely bouquet befitting the view from the vineyard, located in the small village of Regnie-Durette, in the Saone region at the foot of the Alps.
The 2011 vintage was harvested early, from 29 August to 8 September, in Domaine du Py de Bulliat. The climate was favorable and the stress-free winemaker’s experience produced a delicious Beaujolais Villages Nouveau, enjoyed by all party goers.
For the 4th year in a row, the French community got together at Casa Tua Barcelona to celebrate in an authentic way, just like the French do back home.
Owner Daveed Nataf played some old French vinyl records by Piaf, Sacha Distel, Aznavour, Gainsbourg & Dalila in the spirit of La Bonne Franquette, matching the French specialties available in addition to the Spanish Mediterranean menu.
French country plates, the famous Assiette Campagnarde, heaped with French-cured sausages, flown in especially on the occasion, delivered saucisson and Rosette de Lyon to the tables, you cannot be more French than that!! Steak Tartare de Boeuf and genuine French Onion Soup, was featured in addition to Fricasse de Champignons aux Lardons et Escargots, sauteed mushroom with bacon and escargot. Great food combined with delicious wine contributed to a much enjoyed soiree, announcing to the world that Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!
