The Aruba International Pro-Am unfolded over the weekend at Tierra del Sol Golf Course. It resulted in an action-packed weekend delivering great golf, cocktail parties, dinners under the stars and the opportunity to network and connect with international and amateur golfers from many different countries including the USA, St. Thomas, Holland, Aruba, Curacao, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina and the Netherlands.
The Aruba International Pro Am Tournament was launched at a Welcome Reception on Friday. On Saturday morning, Ventanas del Mar restaurant served delicious brunch to all participants, followed by a BBQ dinner on the lawn overlooking the California Lighthouse, at the end of the day.
On Sunday, chef v/d Dorst reports brunch was a lavish production, followed by a Gala Award party in the evening, awarding trophies and prizes to winners.
Golf Pro Adam Williamson reports that 24 teams enjoyed the island’s hospitality, each team made up of 4 amateur golfers and one pro. The tournament, explains Williamson, is designed to promote Aruba as a golf destination. Each year, the international representatives of the Aruba Tourism Authority prepare for this world-class golf-event by running “Copa Aruba,” a local golf tournament in their respective countries around the globe.
The winners of those local tournaments are selected to play here at the Aruba International PRO-AM Golf Tournament, which unfolded for the 16th time, August 27th to 29th at Tierra del Sol.
The tournament is also sponsored by Balashi Beer, AWA & Samuel Adams, Colombian Emeralds International, Aruba Aloe, Divi Links, and TopCar offering a car for the winner of a-hole-in-one during the two-day tournament.
