Nicknamed the Sunrise Café, Mira Solo is a chic tropical retreat perched on the island’s premium stretch of beach. It provides the perfect backdrop for the day’s first meal, a sunny, light, a la carte breakfast, and is also available throughout the day for lunch, as well as evenings of fun with some of Aruba’s best musical ensembles.

The Sunrise Café serves an assortment of bakery specials in the morning, from donuts to muffins and croissants, fresh fruit, Aruban pastechi, bagels, cereals and yogurt, Egg Muffins, Pizza Florentine, Smoked Salmon sandwiches, Prosciutto & Brie and Grilled Ham & Cheese sandwiches, escorted by Fresh Juices, Smoothies, Energy Drinks, Bloody Marys, Champagne Cocktails, Aloe Juice and Vitamin Water.

In the evening, the Sherries may be found entertaining on stage. As the music wafts over the waterfalls it complements the incredible selection of premium Vodkas, Tequilas, Rums as well as many other exotic brands, responsible for a menu of over 100 bar martinis.

The band repertoire embraces American, Latin and Caribbean music as well as many cover-songs.  It is the perfect combination with the bar’s helpful staff pouring interesting concoctions, cocktails, quality wines by the glass and beers, local & imported.

Mira Solo will also be launching a Happy Hour every Friday, inviting patrons to come straight from work, and relax with Happy Hours specials from 5:30 to 7pm!

The crew wearing We Are The Community tee-shirts collected marine debris washed ashore as well as general waste into large trash bags, to be discarded by the resort’s engineers. It was the definitive cleaning action for the year, says director of Human Resources, Glenn Farro who spearheaded the organization.

Every month, colleagues working for the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa devote two, early-morning hours to cleaning along the resort’s adopted mile, adjacent to the Bubali Bird Sanctuary. This month, an entire morning was devoted to wilderness, and the cleaning of an important part of Aruba’s coastal environment.

The initiative was part of Responsible Business Action Month, promoting a cleaner and more beautiful Aruba for the benefit of all who live here, and visit here.

Our Beach Cleanup Day, says Farro, was an opportunity for colleagues to get together, take care of the environment, show appreciation for shared natural resources, and witness the impact of marine debris on the island’s flora and fauna.

September, Farro added, marks Carlson’s second global Responsible Business Action Month. All year, all around the globe, Carlson hotels are working to make the world a better place. September is the company’s time to shine a light on efforts made in that direction, to show stakeholders that Carlson Hotels & Resorts are hotels and resorts with a heart!

The resort will be asking its employees’ cooperation that day, instructing them to use more public transportation or come to work on self propelled vehicles, such as bicycles and tricycles, even rollerblades, in an effort to reduce the deteriorating quality of global air and alleviate the related health problems such hazard brings.

The Car Free Day will facilitate a learning opportunity raising awareness of the issue of smog and air pollution, as well as constant climate changes and global warming, which are the cause of much destruction worldwide.

Maritza Chomba Odor, Project & Administrative Coordinator, La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club informs that the resort wants to promote alternatives to car-dependence on the Car Free Day, September 22nd , which will be made into an annual celebration.

Odor also reveals that La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club will also approach other hotels to join, with the intention to transform that one day into a community awareness period.

The day is meant to promote more sustainable ways of transportation and new ways of building, allowing streets to be a living space where children can play, rather than only transit spaces, she explains. Our vision, she concludes, is to reduce the human impact on the natural environment while improving the quality of life for all.

Saturday’s Slot Tournament also enjoys a die-hard following with Robert Chaves, Walter Hermans and Luzmarina Armora sharing the grand prize one week and Tina Sabatino, Elisabeth Nicholls and Robert Chaves, tapping it the following week, both Elizabeth and Robert are loyal repeat guests of the casino.  Elizabeth was also lucky the following week, when she divided the cash award with Michael Kock and Hendrik Brete.

And in the spirit of his declaration, the resort has been scheduling road-side cleanings once a month, as part of the company’s commitment to the community of Aruba. The cleaning is also in compliance with the Aruba Hotel And Tourism Association-sponsored, Adopt-A-Mile program, which has been supported by the Radisson for the past decade.

The resort crew made of members of the executive office, including General Manager Rob Smith, and members of the Food & Beverage Department met early in the morning and spent over two hours collecting debris and trash between the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa and the Sasaki highway.

Wearing their Yes I Can! T-shirts, they picked up mostly plastic bottles, cups, and food take-out containers, and had a lot of fun fishing the hard to reach litter out of the Bubali nature-reserve water-filled ditches.

The Casino at the Radisson has recently launched a car give-away promotion, now in its third week.  A brand new Suzuki Swift parked on the gaming floor will be raffled at the end of a total of 10 weeks. The raffle will award one of the casino slot or table game players for their loyalty, and frequent visits. Meanwhile every Friday the casino hands out valuable prizes such as a Digital Camera to Patrick Smith staying at the Radisson  Aruba Resort Casino & Spa, Dinner for two at Laguna Restaurant to Ann Lee and Dinner for two at Gilligan’s Bar & Grill, again to lucky Patrick Smith.
