Aruba Birdlife Conservation established

Submitted by Greg Peterson

On May 11th, 2010, in the office of notary public Rodriguez-Taekema, a new foundation was established; the Aruba Birdlife Conservation with the aim of protecting the biodiversity in general and birds in and around Aruba in particular.

Among other things, the foundation will focus on increasing the survival chances of species of wild birds by promoting their preservation and conservation.

Alliances will be made with internationally acclaimed organizations that protect wild birds. One of the objectives of the foundation is the publication of educational material to make Arubans as well as tourists conscious of the beauty of Aruban birds and to create appreciation for the beauty of the Aruban flora and fauna in general. The foundation can be contacted through e-mail at
