Celebrity Chef Mirko Reeh Enjoys Windows Hospitality

Popular TV presenter/producer chef Mirko Reeh, a media superstar in his native Germany, who is considered one of Europe’s top ten chefs is visiting Aruba as guest of the Aruba Tourism Authority and Divi Resorts. On his first night on the island, the legendary VIP was hosted by General Manager Marin Bijl and Tabitha Fecunda, Island Marketing & Promotion Manager
the Links at Divi Aruba, at Windows on Aruba where Executive Chef Paul Zijlstra prepared a special 3-course menu, which received warm compliments and praise from the visiting dignitary.

The evening took off with a lovely quenelle of duck liver with 12 year old balsamic oak-smoked scallop with truffle crème and tomato relish. The main course of New Zealand lamb chops with potatoes in jus de veau, paksoi shanghai, scallions, morels and red wine sauce was cooked to perfection, and served with a robust and slightly chilled Malbec. The five-spice soufflé with dark Belgian chocolate mousse and crispy tuile, paired with a flute with pineapple & passion chutney, concluded the perfect soiree, as it was matched with a festive and sweet dessert wine.

The Aruba Tourism Authority prepared a loaded five-day agenda for Chef Mirko, who will be escorted and shown around by Paola Ochoa of the Aruba Tourism Authority.   The chef will be filming some of his TV show episodes on the island with the intention of promoting Aruba as a culinary destination to his millions of European viewers.

Chef Mirko runs cooking schools, operates top-rated restaurants, authors cook-books, stars in a children cooking show on Nickelodeon and on his main TV program, Chef in a Bacon Coat, just lost all his overweight, more than 30kg, cooking lean and light dishes with the audiences. The creative chef has 100 ideas every day, he says, and an army of 240 employees to make them happen for the dynamic Mirko brand.  Charming, warm, entrepreneurial, and always prepared to laugh, chef Mirko intends to take a big bite out of Aruba and tell all his listeners and viewers about it.
