Spanish Wines Enjoyed at La Bodega

The intimate space of La Bodega Wine Shop was packed with food and wine aficionados as Clive Faustin and his crew of wine artists congregated for a special Wine & Food pairing, on the last Friday of April, highlighting Spanish Wines.

Party-goers enjoyed the culinary artistry of chef Jeroen van Buurenhef, of the Dutch Marines, who showed off his Spanish cuisine repertory, pairing the food with the very well-known wines of Bodegas Torres winery. The evening started with an Amuse, Torres Viña Esmeralda paired with Ibérico ham on toast with marinated melon. The appetizer, Torres Atrium Merlot, paired with Tortilla Chorizo with grilled vegetables heralded the arrival of the soup as Torres Mas Borras was paired with Gazpacho, made with fresh Tomatoes and basil. The main course, Gran Viña Sol paired with Seafood Paella, was exceptionally delicious and was chased by the dessert, Graham Aged 20 Years Tawny Port with Mouse of Carajillo with White Chocolate, Caramel and Cognac.

Wine Artist Clive Faustin who handles the Wine Portfolio and is an Account Team Leader at Romar Trading reports that La Bodega wine shop on Gutenbergstraat 4, Oranjestad, sells vintages from Australia, Argentina, Chile, Italy, France, Spain, New Zealand, Portugal, the United States, and South Africa, all imported here by Romar Trading, and on the last Friday of each month hosts a special wine & food pairing.
