Earth Day which started as a small grassroots campaign in the early 1960s, is now observed worldwide and while Earth Day was first celebrated in the US on April 22, 1970, it has since become a tradition around the world with over one billion people in 190 countries taking action to commemorate the 41st anniversary of Earth Day.
The Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa observed the day by planting a tree at the corner of the Employee Parking Lot Entrance.
The resort is doing its part to celebrate Earth Day and planting a tree is just one more initiative that can be added to our list of Responsible Business Practices, says Glenn Farro, Director of Human Resources. One responsibility of the Radisson is to care for the facility and provide a suitable work environment for employees. Consequently, we are finding more and more ways of doing business in a more environmentally responsible manner, he adds.
