Friends and fans of the Nataf family came to Casa Tua Mediterranée, on Saturday night to celebrate the opening of the restaurant at the Palm Beach Plaza.
Owner Victor Nataf in collaboration with his food and décor savvy sons, Daveed and Gregory, invited the island’s movers and shaker for a lively opening party of their latest restaurant, affiliated to Casa Tua Barcelona, in Oranjestad and Casa Tua Pizzeria, on Palm Beach.
Casa Tua Mediterranée’s professional kitchen crew, with food consultant Kiki Valvis, worked tirelessly to present rich and varied mezethes for tastings, a selection of Greek, Spanish and Arab appetizers against the musical backdrop of Angela Croes’ flamenco music, also featuring six gorgeous Oriental dancers. The veiled dancers in fitted tops decorated with fringes, beads and coins, wearing equally fitted hip belts with more fringe, beads and coins over colorful harem pants, entertained party goers all night, and invited them to also shimmy their hips, vibrating and swinging, as if they were all born in the Middle East!
Casa Tua Mediterranée offers a contemporary Mediterranean style. The décor, by Daveed Nataf, features dark wood, straight-lined furniture, on the outdoor wraparound terrace and in the air-conditioned dining room. The polished concrete used on the floor also serves as a bar top, in shades of pearl grey. The large bar top is suspended, over a band of indirect lighting, to create a luminous, glowing effect that works well with the metallic sheen of the bar’s back wall. The ceiling features a number of hanging layers, giving the room an interesting, architectural look. The restaurant has no walls as it is completely encased in glass allowing excellent views into the Palm Beach Plaza.
Rave reviews about the food, and caring personalized service, make this new place a perfect spot for people who love to live, and love to eat and party!
