Kokomos (1)Carnival fever was raging at Kokomos on Thursday evening when the ATV transmission truck pulled up into the parking lot, delivering a film crew and Aruba’s Carnival King, radio personality Ruben Garcia, the motor behind the station’s popular Carnival program, Riba Bao.

As Kokomo’s owner Andrew Schouten signed up with ATV for the carnival show Riba Bao, to host the ATV program on Thursdays for the entire carnival season, he was there to welcome guests and promote the just-opened restaurant & bar.

Kokomos, a casual eatery, named after the Beach Boys’ famous No. 1 hit, will be serving an array of cuisines including Italian, Caribbean, Creole, and Indonesian.  Local and Caribbean art—all for sale—will adorn the walls, adding to the restaurant’s tropical motif. When completely open, diners can choose to eat indoors or on the al fresco terrace, where a barbeque will turn out perfectly grilled fish and meats.

On Thursday, balcony tables at Kokomos were occupied by Mojito guzzling guests, Mrs Carnival, Majestic Carnival Group members and well-known local personality Ochi Henriquez, who helped put the restaurant & bar together for his friends, members of the Schouten family.

Grab a balcony table at Kokomo’s to eat and relax while observing the energy of Palm Beach Plaza below, any day of the week.
