William van Ramshorst and his son Liam won the 16th edition of Café the Plaza’s annual golf tournament, at Tierra del Sol. Not only did they defeat 94 competitors, no, they beat a few other father-son combinations in the process. With a strong wind trying to fool the players and a fierce sun brightening up the afternoon, Saturday, November 28 was a perfect day to play 18-holes of golf. The 46 participating teams had a blast.
Tierra del Sol’s golf pros and organizers of the tournament announced the winners at Café the Plaza in the Renaissance Marketplace, where an Indonesian bami goring buffet and lots to drink miraculously revived the tired players. Head Pro Oliver Riding and his assistant Adam Williamson thanked their crew as well as Café the Plaza for their assistance, just before announcing the winners
The prize for the Longest Drive went to JR Quant; Closest to the Pin was Axl Ismail. Anthony Beaujon and Capi Hese were in third (60.4 Net Score), Steve Bowen and Andy Hunt were in second with 59.4 and just one tenth made a lot of difference: William and Liam van Ramshorst won with 59.3. Other father-and-son teams included Frans and Matthew Brinkman (they came in fifth), and Mike and Maurice de L’Isle (12).
