Grace Ashruf Rahusen will exhibit her latest collection, titled “Treasureâ€. The exhibition will begin on November 18th 2009 at The Frameshop & A.R.T., situated at Italiestraat 24-A, (right behind SuperFood and KongHing Supermarkets) and will be on display through December 16th 2009.
Grace is very proud to be able to have her 4th solo exhibition “Treasure†on Aruba and to show this latest collection, a fusion of Art, History and Contemporary.
This collection is surprisingly different from her previous collections, but still an evolution from her former art expressions and collections. The theme of this colorful and vibrant abstract collection is more matured from her collections as Seascapes and Horizons & Landscapes.
The artist placed the ancient Indians symbols (“first writingsâ€) as a textured base on her blank canvases. On top of these symbols, she created a contemporary design with beautiful color combinations and color mixtures. In each painting of this collection Grace incorporated a self created hand scribbling; this, to realize and draw attention to ability of that our human hands and mind have done in the past and still can create in our ongoing digital template world.
Her spontaneity in her freedom to synthesize things for her inspiration (“moments of thoughtsâ€) is only driven from her heart. The richness of vibrant colors and her feeling for harmonie can be seen in each of her paintings, which permits to obtain works of a great quality.
Those ‘moments of thoughts’ found expression, not by technique and training, but by a stubborn attempt to leave all the training and intellect behind. “I paint it as if the thin line between my life and my art is erased.†she shares.
“I will never give up trying! Why do I paint? Because I can. That is just about it. Why did ancient people paint on stone walls? Because they could. Because thinking and then acting on those thoughts had become part of being human†Grace adds.
Grace will donate 10% of evt. revenues of this exhibition to Stichting Kinderhuis Imeldahof in Aruba.
