The Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association in collaboration with Digicel presented the national awards of excellence for “Supervisors of the Year†to Rosa Maduro, F&B Supervisor at the Radisson Aruba Resort Casino & Spa and Margriet Geerman, Housekeeping Supervisor at The Aruban Resort.
Bert Schreuder and Wanda Broeksma of the Digicel Group and Rob Smith, President & CEO of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association, shared the stage at the Hyatt Regency ballroom with winners in 8 different categories, presenting them with their Shoco Award on Friday evening.
The awards were instituted in 2005 as the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association continues to promote the warmth and hospitality of the island’s people which is acknowledged by island visitors, indicating it is the key factor of their satisfaction level.
The informal ceremony at the Hyatt Regency was nicely attended by the membership of the Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association. In their decision the judges explained that both Rosa & Margriet tied for first place and were equally strong candidates. Their leadership at their respective resorts and their tireless contributions to guest satisfaction convinced the judges that both were worthy of the top honors, delivering quality in service, hospitality and outstanding individual qualities to the sustainability of Aruba’s Tourism Industry.
The Shoco, Aruba’s indigenous owl is one of the island’s natural treasures, and just like Rosa & Margriet represents wisdom, resourcefulness, focus, vision and a keen sense of direction.
