La Cabana Beach & Racquet Club organized a Watapana tree planting at the onset of the resort’s Earth Week Program 2009.

The Earth Week Opening Celebration was made very special by the planting of the tree which represented the educational process of green practices.

The Earth Week agenda peppered with lectures about the island’s flora and fauna, our water, traditional Aruban architecture, and green environmental practices, is an initiative of the Green and Health team.. The resort also undertook the 8th annual recycled art competition this week and is counting down to World Red Cross Day, Family Day, Global Engineering Day, World Ocean Day, and the 16th annual Aruba Reef Care.

There will be additional lectures on health and wellbeing, on recycling, on turtle preservation and Bio-diesel, ozone layer preservation and Sponsor-A-Mile clean ups in the next few months.
