TBS Brassband heralded the arrival of the 2009 Children’s Carnival parade in Oranjestad. Among groups parading in colorful costumes, shoulder & head pieces, body & road pieces, and floats Baby Champagne, Astrid Jansen & Co, Nos Fofoti, Don Flip Carnaval Group, Wizzkids Carnival Group, La Rochelita, Jolly Kids, New Generation Steel band, Centro di Bario Noord, Grupo nos Futuro, Mini & Youth Danza Aruba, Dejakids and the Last lap band.
The parade started around 1 p.m. on Sunday with 1,799 kids, and finished at 4:25 p.m., five minutes ahead of schedule, with 12 groups, 1 brass band, 3 steel bands and 12 musical bands. Locals and visitors lined the streets enjoying the happy faces, admiring the amazing handiwork of dedicated mother and fathers, group organizers and designers, staging a unique street happening, filled with music and fun.
