A gathering at Ocean 105 brought together two hospitality legends, tourism pioneer, developer Raymond Maduro and Carlos Cabrera, Senior Vice President, Field Operations, Florida and Caribbean for Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
The two met on the island almost two decades ago as Maduro was developing Tierra del Sol Golf Resort & Country Club coinciding with Cabrera’s arrival here with his wife Lynn and their two daughters Carolina and Chabeli - the third girl Cassandra was born in Aruba, as the new General Manager of the just-built, Hyatt Regency Aruba.
Cabrera who spent six years on the island reports that his friendship with Maduro had great influence on his professional career over the years and that his stint one the island was one of the happiest and most fulfilling times in his life.
The Cabreras who now live in Florida, enjoyed the spectacular Aruban sunset in the company of local friends, over delicious hors doeuvres served by Bingo restaurant and live music with We Fusion.
Cabrera, a Hyatt veteran, now serves as Vice President and Managing Director of Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa. He is also responsible for owner relations, financial performance and standardization of product and services in Hyatt’s 12 hotels and resorts in Florida and three in the Caribbean including ‘his baby’ the Hyatt Regency Aruba.
Also on hand to share the moment, Alejandro Muyale, Tiara Air, Susan Santiago, General Manager Hyatt Regency, Steve Lacle, Director of Engineering Hyatt Regency, and other related family members and friends.
